I agree with the guy, it's a kind of dick move but all things considered, being on your feet working for 10 hours is worth more seat time than just being pregnant, sorry ladies. He should've just said "I worked 10 hours today without sitting down" It should've blown over.
Besides, someone else could've gotten up too, there are probably like a dozen other "bad guys" here.

I remember a few years ago, some teen tramp got on the bus with her 2 friends, sat on the stairs to the upper deck, and said "nobody gives their seats up for pregnant people these days", in an obviously loud manner, in an attempt to guilt some poor bugger to stand up.
Now, considering this girl was like 15, I said "nobody on the bus got you knocked up so why should they?"
