The lumber industry has been adding capacity in the US for the past 4 years, at least. Ever since the tariffs on Canadian lumber were being discussed. I've personally worked on at least 6 different new and expanded mills in that time. Many others we're built that I had no part of. I can't blame the mills for playing wait and see with the clowns we have running the government.

Americans fucking Americans. Trucks need to double their haul rates and let the shit sit at the mills till they pay it.

And loggers need to stop cutting unless delivered log prices start to actually track with lumber prices again. One of the big mill conglomerates here just slashed what they were paying for logs by over 20%.

Supposedly the logyard is full and they are milling as fast as they can but nobody's really buying it.

Capitalism in action.

There is nothing free market about the timber/lumber industry.

Capitalism has nothing to do with a fictional "free market." What you are witnessing is capitalism's end game, or late stage capitalism.

Working as intended.

Perhaps. But the kike uses distaste for the private creation and control of capital and monopolistic market sectors to garner support for eliminating the last few vestiges of a free market that do exist. The near monopolies remain intact in the milling sector only because of government regulation and permitting driving up the cost of entry into what should be a more free marketplace.
