I live in south Texas and worked at a large company that is considered conservative. I am an IT guy and was in that department. There was one obese, McReddit mod-looking soytub that came out as MtF and was going to transition by the years end or something - I left before it actually happened. Our manager literally had to take each of us aside independently and attempt to inform us about pending mental disorder being publicly accepted and to just be careful lest we become victims of the culture. I left to an even more conservative company.
