So angry was Casillas that he severely beat and choked Humphries, including knocking out some teeth. Police said had Casillas stopped there, they may not have charged him. Casillas, however had other ideas.

While investigators said they were sympathetic to the dad and understood his anger, he went across a legal line after he not only knocked out some of the man’s teeth, but also fired shots at him as he ran on down the street.

It was hereafter, however when Casillas jumped the shark, so to speak. Since Humphries no longer posed a threat to Casillas, he legally needed to back down.

However, that didn’t happen, and investigators said that while they understood the father’s rage, state law in Georgia draws the line on continuing actions against an intruder when they no longer pose a threat. In this case, Humphries was no longer a threat and was booking down the road.

The lesson to be learned here, is that if you hear noises coming from your Daughter's bedroom, shoot first, ask questions later.

Whatever Mrs. Casillas flaws maybe, in this instance she demonstrated that she's a good wife. Husband asked for his firearm and she was quick to retrieve it so he could continue to engage the suspect. Mr. Casillas only mistake was failing to aim for center of mass when discharging his weapon.
