I really like black beans but since there really aren't many (any) taco niggers around here they are in short supply.
It's a trade off that I'm willing to make.
They are usually about 40 cents a can on sale so we stock up everytime they are. Its cheap protein and the only other thing that cheap is eggs and I have yet to think of a way to make those last long term.
This works but I would go with the boiled option and then vacuum seal the results. YMMV.

Interesting idea, I'm not sure how well it would come out re hydrated but its long term store-able protein.
