Read is very important, Mine are still too young to read on their own but they are learning.

if u will read to em a lot and hold the book open and put finger on words as you say em bout age 3.5 -4 should know many words just on site and is good start. if you can afford a pre-k focusing on reading be even better

I'm one that does my home work on child development so I have a pretty good idea of what all the time tables should look like. I spent a lot of time reading to all my kids from the time they were born.
