Wall Street Apes @WallStreetApes

This is Tiburon, California

Here residents can be fined up to $500 for not separating their trash when disposing of it

As you can see when the city comes to pick it up, it’s all thrown in one bin and taken to the landfill

Amazing

The fines are ridiculous, but this is not the only place where garbage and recycling are thrown into the same truck. A friend worked at a large chain restaurant. She said the recycling and garbage bins that customers use are only for show. They both get tossed in the same dumpster by staff.

Years ago I worked with a recycling company. They were a client of the company I was employed by. The overwhelming percentage of recycled plastics were mixed in with standard household waste and dumped in landfills. Less so for aluminum and cardboard, because they had some resale value.

The virtue signaling is getting old

Almost nothing gets recycled.

They made a rule/law then realized they would have to triple the amount of trucks, collectors, etc that would have to do the work so it's just green washing bullshit now.

Send one garbage truck, dump it all in the landfill. If you catch someone using the wrong bin fine then and keep the $$$.
