November 2, 1917: The Balfour Declaration wherein the British promised to support Zionist ambitions in Palestine in exchange for Zionist support in WW1. October 30, 1918 - November 1, 1922: With the siding of the Ottoman empire with the central powers, the Western allies needed to carve up Turkish lands. The Ottoman empire refused an israeli state prior and was a complete wall between Britain and India. Colonialism was to be restored. The UK was thus granted a mandate over Palestine. June 28, 1919: The Treaty of Versailles was revenge for French territory loss during the Franco-Prussian War in which the French were humiliated and forced to pay reparations to Germany. Thus, Germany was forced to pay reparations back that would cripple the nation and destroy the people. This treaty allowed foreign interests to dominate business and allow for the corruption of the nation's banking. The New York Times proceeds to barrage the public with tales of woe out of Europe to garner American support despite Americans not willing to go to a second war. They press hard.
