"On September 21, 1921 workers at an ammonium nitrate plant near Oppau Germany were faced with a dilemma. 4,500 tons of ammonium nitrate used for munitions had congealed into a plaster like mass inside a silo. Faced with the daunting prospect of breaking it apart with pickaxes, they instead chose to detonate explosive charges in it to break it into smaller pieces.

The ensuing explosion killed 500-600 people, injured 2000, shattered every window within 30km, and tore roofs off structures 30km away."

"Halte mein bier und beobachte dies" would be the closest approximation I can think of. A native speaker would probably know the idiomatic way to put it.
