11 platinum selling CD, sold out massive stadiums THREE nights in a row, etc... but to me it was more than that.... I listened to him when he pressed just 500 copies of cassette tapes as a teen
from 500 copies to 11,000,000 copies... but many years in between those points in time.
This was the one video of this song on MTV when it was normal I ever saw "not post Real World garbage MTV". I saw this one and really identified with the attitude of the vid.
His first ancient music videos he made on his own , by himself, were whimsical , and typically featured making fun of growing up in rural farmland and had him and others driving around on normal large riding lawnmowers in 3rd gear and such. I doubt those ever saw the light of day. In fact silly humor and clever humor lyrics were kid rock's schtick for several years, and the humor got him onto Howard Stern show an other shows before that, and in live interviews he was able to spar with other comics enough that Howard Stern appearance propelled him into a superstar. All by being self deprecating and funny.
