Holy shit, fuck that. What's even the purpose of such a weapon? Shooting fucking elephants? Shooting a person with something like that would be hilariously absurd overkill.
While I was reading the article, the Nock gun came to my mind- a 7 smoothbores barreled gun that fired pistol balls (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nock_gun). These weapons were meant to be used by sailors/marines, as they'd be very effective in the tight quarters of a boarding action.
There was a major problem, though- only like 1 in 10 men could fire the Nock gun without breaking his arm/collar bone. Only big, beastly men could fire them with some level of comfort.
