My first MOS in the Army was a 63D, so I worked on the M109A6. We used to stand behind the guns and try to visually track the rounds after they were fired. The 155mm round immediately turned into a tiny dot that quickly shrank to nothing. One thing I did not like was when they fired over us. That whistling sound in the air above you is unnerving when you consider the possibility of a short round.
