It is the way to go for killing snakes. When I lived in Texas I would go hiking out in the desert in remote areas and my go to was my Cz75bd loaded up with CCI shotshells with a backup magazine with 147grain Hornady HP+P. Had to use it twice, once on a rattler and once on a Texas Redheaded Centipede. (texashillcountry.com)
edit: the downside to these are they don't like to cycle properly in a lot of firearms. My cz75bd and Ruger sr9 are the only two pistols I own that have about a 80 percent success ratio. Oh.. If you have a sub gun or a PCC these are awesome.
Dang redheaded centipedes!
Those things are scary, fast, aggressive, and really poisonous. An 8 inch one was going for my Wife and her dog and hissing while doing it, so I kicked the fucker and plugged him twice. I HATE those things. They are lethal to small dogs and small children but a full grown adult would just be in agonizing pain for a couple of days to a week.
Not good!
Me, I hate rattlin' snakes. Where I grew up in SE PA, we didn't have any, so I could roam the fields and woods with no problem. We had copperheads, but they are more likely to try to avoid ya, so no biggie. But when I moved to rattlin' snake country they scared the shit outta me many a time - LOL. I'm like Indiana Jones when it comes to snakes anyway.
