Y'know, I have not tried one. I might as well try one of those first.
What exactly is it that you are trying to accomplish? Everyday Carry? Secondary weapon carry? Open/ concealed? Also is it a fullsize or a subcompact pistol?
Everyday carry, concealed. For cool weather jacket wearing days like these.
Full size: 92FS. Not the best choice for concealability, I know, but I'm not the practical sort, I guess.
This is good. I should be less impulsive this early in the day. And at the rest of the times of the day as well perhaps.
92FS? Don't you have an odd barrel length? That is going to make it tricky to find the right one for you i think.
If you are not 100% in need of a cross draw set up i don't think Vertical carry is a good option, nor do i think appendix carry is a good option.
Jacket weather means there is no point fucking yourself over with a ITW (inside wastband) setup so you'll want to look into OTW (outside wastband) setup.
I highly recommend looking into either and ALS or an SLS style paddle holster. I used the Serpa paddle from blackhawk for years (still use it) but a lot of Departments have banned its use, most departments have upgraded to a lvl 3 retention system

Video of ALS+SLS retention systems. Watch how he uses his thumb to depress the SLS system to draw the firearm, verses the old style (that i use) of the serpa press.
People don't like the serpa style because you must use your firing trigger to depress the lock to draw and some people have shot themselves due to improper training with this specific holster. This is why the SLS system was created.
I carry MP .40 FULL for my EDC with a ruger .380ACP as my crossdraw backup.
