There's a gun shop 2 miles from my house...
Damn it. Pretty sure it's at least nine miles to our nearest one, and they're more of a cheapo indoor range that also sells some guns. Then another dozen miles further is a Turner's, but they're always mobbed by dozens of guys buying ammo, and that's a super slow process there... then there's the one a few miles from work... and that one is super nice actually. But that's nearly like 30 miles away.
I just looked it up on a map. The closest one to me is actually a bit over 5 miles away. The range I belong to is 16 miles away.
Aw man, the range I was a member of is well over 50 miles away now, and that's in a straight line as the bird flies. I miss those guys, they were great, and the range was also nice. It no longer exists as I remember it as there was a huge fire and they totally rebuilt from scratch, so I hear it's better - but we had to go and move to the beach because that sounded like a good idea at the time, and now the mountain is far!
Still, even the mother-in-law wants to go shooting, so I gotta drag the family back out there one of these days.
Gun shops everywhere here. Love it.
