Arcflash Labs develops the EMG-01A. The first commercially available low-voltage coilgun. Similar to the CG-42 it is a fully automatic accelerator with a muzzle energy of 5.0J at 460 rounds per minute.
For reference a .22lr round typically has between 180J and 250J of energy. So the EMG-01A is somewhere in the realm of 30 to 50 times less powerful than one of the weakest firearms... Put another way: More powerful than my daughter's pumpmaster BB gun but much less powerful than my Gamo pellet gun. You could take this thing to an airsoft match and not hurt anyone.
