The AR is a useful rifle. But honestly I consider it more of a varmint gun, which is what it's good for.

(((Their))) goal is not to outlaw guns. Why? Like the adage "guns don't kill, people do"

Will be the next adage "Guns don't kill people, bullets do"

Why should we have access to "military" ammo !?

Semi-autos? Pish-posh, in 1934 they almost outlawed them...when they created the law requiring a $200 tax to be paid on autos (a cost of about $2000 in today's dollars, about the same as the cost of the gun). The 1930's law was passed because of Hollywood and the gangster movies, showing that everyone had a Thompson Chicago. Typewriter. In fact, Thompson made 15,000 guns in one year, they did not sell well, stopped producing them and it was not until WWII that they sold the last of the first year's production runs.

Don't believe ANYTHING coming out of politicians' mouths. When they do say something, ask them for records that they relied upon in making the statement...you'll get nothing.
