I recommend something that you pick up off the table and it fits perfectly in your hand without having to fumble or adjust your grip angle. For me CZ/FN/1911 are the sweet spot. Pistols you can modify quite a bit but you are stuck with that lower and grip angle. Go to the gun store and ask to handle some different makes and without thinking pick it up and bring the sights to your eyeline, if you have any trouble try the next.
I've had the opportunity to put about 50 rounds through a 1911, and I really enjoyed it. It's what I'm leaning towards right now.
Can't go wrong with the classics, a ton of aftermarket but If you can try a I love that thing so much.
Czech made? I've heard good things about CZ firearms. I'll have to take a look at it.
Thanks!
