Yeah do that.... I live in the country and hate shooting ranges, the amount of times somebody has muzzle swept me is beyond count. Try before buy if at all possible.

I have repeated that a million times. I even have to inspect barrels from the feed ramp side when field stripped from being so conditioned by my grandfathers and father to use proper muzzle/trigger discipline and not shoot yourself or others in the face

Good idea; this will be my first time purchasing a brand new firearm, I didn't consider the rental option to figure out what I like to fire.
