Defensive shotgun is for neophytes. Pistol for cqc, then ar shorty as short as don’t get you in trouble. 16” is fine with a shorty stock. Or an ar pistol.

For home defense I have a shorter barreled over-under 12. If I miss with one at that close of range, first off I suck, but there's always that second shot. Longer barrel 12 ga. pump I have is for target and hunting. The over-under used to be my grandpa's bird gun, but I don't bird hunt. If they make it upstairs, that's when they get to meet the hell of 30 rounds of 5.56.

Just start with the 556 then. You don't want to go for a blind weapon swap when there is a horde of niggers rushing you.
