A buddy showed me the Hi-Point C9 he just bought and I'm...baffled. Who is the target market for this?

Clunky safety that I'd hate to use under pressure.

If you lock the slide back on an empty mag, joke's on you, you cant release the slide without dropping the mag (why???).

Ergonomics are unimpressive.

Aesthetics are 0/10.

I completely understand form over function handguns (most revolvers), and function over form (Glocks, SA's "totally not a Glock wink wink" XD9, etc), but Hi-Points are neither aesthetic nor functional. Why do people buy these?

Wasn't defending the hi point handgun. Said the opposite actually. I'm defending their carbine, which the CZ is not. Sometimes you just need a rifle platform, and don't need a more powerful cartridge. Like I said, truck or ranch gun. Works great in the plains for stuff like coyotes, prairie dogs, snakes, etc. Hell, the 10mm would even be a decent brush gun against Non-Grizzly bears and other predators
