I thought Illinois was a state that isn't friendly to conceal and carry. I've been warned by a state trooper from there to leave my guns at home when in their state.
It's possible to CCW there, but reciprocity is very limited so it's mostly residents of Illinois who can get a permit.

If you have a valid permit/license to carry from your home state, you are allowed to have a concealed firearm in your vehicle in IL. If you leave the vehicle, the firearm has to stay inside, locked. (Either in a locked compartment or the vehicle itself is locked.)

I don't have a cc, don't see the need. I live in a state with constitutional carry. I can already cc. Wife wants to go get them together. Maybe I'll sign us up for Christmas.
