I've long been more of a handgun shooter over rifles, and noticed something odd: decent handguns cost more than decent rifles. E.g. a decent AR-15 from PSA is ~$500. If I go buy a new striker-fired Glock, it's going to cost more. If I buy a decent quality revolver, I can easily spend twice that as an entry point.

And yes, I know shotguns are dirt cheap, but I'm thinking more in terms of rifles vs handguns. Is it because fitting the same core components in a smaller package costs more, or because mass rifle manufacturers like PSA have better economies of scale, or am I doing an apples-to-oranges comparison because I wont buy truly "bargain" quality handguns from Acme Armsco?

Idk man, maybe you're just retarded.

I would like to know how those manufacturers just keep selling them if they function as you say.

My dad is a gun collector.

This tells me all I need to know.

Enjoy that markup.

asks where I buy my gun parts.

Glow harder

I've been drinking and am not in much of a mood to argue. So look dipshit, I've been around guns longer than most. Due to my dad being a collector I have literally been around guns my whole life. I also collect. I have some rare-ish older ones and some fun newer ones. You get what you pay for with the newer crap. I've been shooting since I was 5. I know my way around a gun. Here in the country most folks have been around guns their whole lives. I don't know what qualifications you're looking for but there is no damn way a decent ar is gonna be $500.

Because there's a sucker born every minute. Stupid city boys and niggers keep companies like these running. If you had half a brain you'd listen more than speak when others are attempting to share knowledge.

It's a rhetorical question dumbass.

Edit: Grammer

I personally know a machinist that manufactures parts for a major gun manufacturer and the "cheap" brands on the same machines with the same stock.

The. Fucking. Same.

You sound stuck in the 90's when we didn't have 5 axis cnc's in every fucking city holding tolerances to half a thousandth.

If you're running a cnc you're a programmer not a machinist.

Say what you want bud. You get what you pay for when it comes to guns. You'll either pay upfront or you'll pay in repairs.
