Herro Goats.

Thinking of getting a Beretta 92FS or Sig P226 to EDC. Have you owned either of these firearms? Any opinions, thoughts on either?

Thank you!

Are you going to be concealing these? Unless you are a huge guy I probably wouldn't go with a double stack magazine gun and probably not a full size gun at all. First is the issue of printing, not terribly huge, but it's there, but secondly is just comfort. If it's not comfortable you won't want to wear it.

Yes I was looking into those specific models for EDC, concealed.

I'm not fat I'm big boned dammit! I'm big and tall. Joints and hands hurt (old cancer survivor) so I want something that will be super reliable, soak up the recoil a bit.

Any recommendations then? Appreciate the feedback a lot.

If you're big and tall it might not be a problem. You might just visit a shop and ask if they'll let you try and holster each of them so you can get an idea of it.

I don't have enough experience with either of those brands to give a recommendation on them but I do know there's a more compact version of the Sig.

Glock 43X is hot right now. Personally I prefer glock for concealed.

Go find your hand, take yor mehds, stop stalking baby goats. Like, get a life even.

I've tried out the Beretta and I'm much more fond of the SIG. Beretta has a weird recoil feel to me that whips your hand back and down, maybe because of how the slide is shaped.

I'm here to shill Walthers

Tell me about the Walther PDP compact please. And damn the Honest Outlaw for having videos of this pistol lol.

I carry a PDP M2 SC. Very very smooth. Good reset. Simple takedown and maintenance. Mags are hard af to find in stock.

Two shitty pistols, you're fucked bro

Ive carried full size pistols. with a good belt and holster its not too bad. I got tired of having a 2lb weight on my hip all day. I carry a sig p365 now.

I have an M9. Exact same thing as the Beretta 92, except for stamping on the slide to indicate which is which. The 92 is the "civilian" model.

It is a DA/SA gun, if that bothers you, or you are unsure about it. I'd go shoot one at a range before purchase. It is very reliable, easy to clean and maintain and parts are plentiful, as the standard issue sidearm of the US DoD, parts arent going to be discontinued until they move on, even then the surplus will last a long time.

The sig I have never owned and know nothing about, other than its stellar reputation.

Hey thank you for your articulate response. Super grateful, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your loved ones.

Sigs are fantastic. Rent a P226 and Beretta and see which you prefer.

German X-Series P226's aren't made anymore, but they are awesome. The US P226's are still good. What makes Sig's excellent are their triggers. Get the "short trigger reset" or "SRT" if you get a DA/SA P226.

That said, you do not want to EDC a double-stack 9mm. Consider a P365.

Ok.Why the P365? Have you shot it? Is it as reliable as the P226?

The P365 is reliable now. The first year they came out they had issues.

It's a striker fire micro-compact vs. a SA/DA (or SA only in German models) full sized double stack 9mm. You can't EDC a full-size double stack 9mm comfortably and the gun will print. They are huge and heavy.

No offense but you don't know enough about these guns to be buying one unless you have money to burn. Rent first.

Renting before buying is great advice. Will take. No offense taken. I own a few guns, just not a center fire semi-auto.

I've a bad habit (lol) of buying a rifle and pistol in the same caliber.

SR-22, 10/22. GP100, Henry X .357.. So I'm pretty sure to buy a 9mm carbine after the pistol.

I love my sig p938

Shoots great, pocket conceals well. The small holster is nice, but I just pocket nowadays
