Should I get a 1. Glock 2. AR 15 (w/ what accessories) 3. .308

Or is there anything else you guys recommend at a minimum.

I want to use them for shtf scenario, hunting, self defence. Offence in a zombie apocalypse type scenario.

Thanks.

22LR for training can be helpful, as well as good for small game. Ammo is cheap and plentiful again. Not as cheap as it was, but what is...?

Many dismiss the .308, but if you're under 500 yards it's still a great cartridge. Some have switched to 6.5CM or some variant. Really, most won't need to go beyond 100 yards anyway. You shouldn't be shooting at anything at significant distance until you are a competent shot.

Truth is, just the AR will do most people - so if you can just get one, start with the AR. Can't take big game with it, but it will do for most.

Get 5 to 10 mags for every gun you have, plus a way to carry them, and good clear glass with limited magnification - or a reliable red dot.

But, my main piece of advice: buy ammo (lots of it) and get out to shoot as much as you can. And get training - even if it's a one-day course. The gun is a gun. Your skill is the primary factor.

For SHTF survival situations, you're spot on in terms of prioritizing ammo. One shot one kill is for hunting or Hollywood. Why get another gun when you can get another thousand rounds and use your existing guns longer?
