Feel like it’s a bit of newbie thing?
Granted, with the popularity of compact weapons we don’t really have a place for the trigger finger on the handle anymore and so I usually have my trigger finger parallel to the barrel, kinda hovering over the trigger until I’m ready to shoot. But then I’m a newbie and don’t have as much experience as I wish I had.
Plus if you hover your trigger finger you don’t need to readjust your grip when you decide to put said finger on the trigger.
Again, I don’t know enough.
I carry a S&W 9 shield compact... I have to have the extended mag in it to get the pinky on it, if the trigger finger is extended...
It isnt possible to grip the pistol grip.
As a better reference...
USMC boot camp 1993 -- 4 rules of rifle safety. 1. never point a weapon at anything you dont intend to shoot 2. keep the weapon on safe until you are ready to fire 3. keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you intend to fire. 4. treat every weapon as if were loaded.
I know they were taught before that from a guy who was an 80s Marine. But 93 is as far back as I can personally guarantee it was taught.
