Greater than .22LR, .308 max. I like the ole M1 style look, not 'scary black AR'. American-made (duh). Easy to get ammo for. I really like the Ruger Scout. Also the Mini 14, but the weird safety do-hickey is a turnoff.

I prefer bolt-action over semi-auto bcuz more rugged and less problems.

Right now it's in 7mm just bc I was able to grab a ton of that caliber super cheap but has the ability to change over to 30-06
