I've taken my Glock 17 Gen 5 to the range numerous times with only rare failure-to-feed, and most of those are something obvious like my dumb ass not seating the mag all the way.

Today, every 3rd or 4th round would fail to feed. Same gun, same mags, same ammo, no prior issues, and weirdest of all the problem spontaneous resolved itself after putting 50ish rounds through it.

I clean my firearms like clockwork after every trip to the range, so I know it's not dirty.

Since the issue went away after ~50ish rounds I suspect I did a crappy job of lubricating it the last time I cleaned it and cycling it enough spread the lubricant around. Either that or I was distracted and initially limp-wristing (I took a newbie to the range, handed her another gun, and she hit a squib load on the second freaking round. Definitely rattled me for a bit because that could easily have been a Really Bad Day).

I clean my 1911 about once a year and it has never once not gone bang when I pull the trigger. I shoot 2 or 3 times a month. I used to clean obsessively every time I went shooting but the older I get, the less time I spend cleaning my guns. Shameful, I know. I don't think I have cleaned my AR in about 3 years now. Thankfully it's a piston model not DI.
