I'm saying this as a CZ fanboy who has done trigger work myself on all of my guns.

For the normal hammer fired models (i.e. the ones they've been making for decades and with prices comparable to Glock), CZ triggers suck. Add $300 in parts from Cajun Gun Works (CGW) and they are phenomenal but out of the box they suck.

My P-01 had a DA pull heavier than 12 pounds (max my pull gage reads) and an SA pull of about 6 lbs. After parts, about 8 lbs and 3.5 lbs. That's with the blue spring from CGW. The original reset was also very long. The upgrades reduced the reset significantly.

I had similar very results with my SP-01 though the initial trigger was not as bad. About 11 lbs DA and 5 lbs SA. With upgrades it is about 7.5 lbs DA and 3.5 lbs SA.

A stock Glock is about $600 and parts are cheap and easy to install. A CZ is slightly more expensive and doing the upgrades is much more difficult.

If you compare stricker fired guns like the CZ P-10 series to the Glock, the CZ has a better trigger but if you are going that route, look at the Walther PDP first.

Glocks are good basic guns that have a very very good aftermarket, excellent accessory support, cheap magazines, and basically every single thing you could ask for in customizing and setting up after the purchase. That's what makes them an excellent choice for a first pistol.

Are there better guns than Glocks? Absolutely. The Walther PDP, CZ P-01, CZ P-10, S&W M&P series, all come to mind. Do any of these have remotely comparable aftermarket support? Not at all. Are they as easy to customize? That depends. Can they be customized in as many ways as easily as the Glock? No.

5.5lbs trigger pull is disgusting. Get the gunsmith to drop in a lighter trigger and get a good holster or you'll shoot your foot and or balls off.
