Ruger LCR. Revolvers are less prone to malfunction, and Ruger is one of the best brands out there

Fudd Lore... A revolver is no more reliable than any modern semi-auto. The decreased capacity in a weapon roughly the same size as a semi-auto along with longer reload times makes the revolver not a beginners weapon.
