My wife carries a Glock 43 and likes it. The Sringfield Hellcat is decent too. Are you more on the revolver or the semi-auto side?

I'm old school and tend to prefer revolvers. OTOH, seems semi-auto polymers dominate the market so I took all the recommendations and suggestions from all the posts, read several reviews and I chose the SW MP performance. That one seems to fit my needs and is in the price range. Now to go through all the b.s in the state I live in to make a purchase.
