I've heard a .22 with a supressor described as the perfect assassin gun. Even in a crowd it doesn't even sound like a gun, and a hole is a hole.

I wouldn't trust a 22lr to go through a skull.

That's nonesense.

They'll go right through deer and pig and cow skulls

Is there any hard evidence? Why don't people CC them then? How come when butchers kill cattle they use a bolt gun that shoots out a spike powered by a blank instead of a live 22?

Edit: I found a medical book called Traumatic Brain Injury by Granacher. Not linking to google docs. It says 22 can penetrate and bounce around in the skull like the old stories says. But it also says many people survive suicide attempts with 22 (and 25/32) but seems to be because the put the gun in the wrong place. Mortality rate is 25% for anteroposterior vs 83% for lateral according to the text.

I think they can, depending on the entry point. But more importantly someone who considered themself an assasin would have spent time researching what places on the body would be appropriate.

Maybe ear could work but eye would be better. Or underneath the chin past the mandible.

Ummm a .177 pellet can close enough.

I was listening to an old podcast about terminal injuries interviewing a trama doctor in Chicago I think? Some gangbanger shithole city. Anyway it had all kinds of weird outcomes. Like a 22lr went under a guy's skin and traveled from his torso up to his neck (killing him) but a girl got shot point blank in the head with a 45 and it bounced off her skull. The only thing I learned for certain was the niggers always use the cheapest fjm they can find. I can't remember the name of podcast though.

Supposedly a .22 revolver was the favorite tool of organized criminals. It wouldn't make much noise even without a suppressor and if one of the rounds misfire like most .22s occasionally do, you just pull the trigger again and get a different round. I recall seeing a video where some mafia thugs killed a guy with a .22 revolver, it actually looked surprisingly effective.

Where did they shoot him, and how many times? Just curious.

I saw a video of a tough looking boar go down with a single shot to the head from a .22. Definitely better than airsoft.

If i recall correctly they emptied the gun into his back, hitting him in the neck and head area. The dude was gone before he even knew what happened.

That shit's quiet without a suppressor. There was a dude next to me at the range a while back shooting a .22LR setup and I thought he was doing dry fire drills. I told my buddy, "damn, that dude's hammer spring is strong." Turns out he was shooting. It just sounded like a loud "clack" from a hammer.

.22 shorts are like an air rifle going off.
