They've already tried pushing this garbage and it was a huge failure.

Pulls gun in self defense.

Forgot to charge pistol last night so its useless.

Or it doesn't read your fingerprint correctly. Or your hands are dirty. Or it got some water splashed on it. A thousand different things could literally get you killed with this 'smart gun'. Utter idiocy.

Obviously this is idiotic, push buttons, bluetooth, finicky fingerprints etc are all stupid failure prone ideas that would get you killed.

But I am still curious on what an actually functional safety measure might be. Like a proximity RFID on your person at say 4 or 5 feet that disables a physical safety? I mean modern cars have proximity detection with the key, right? It's not difficult to have a battery integrated on the pistol that would last a very long time, same with an RFID sensor on your person(INB4 MUH MARK OF DUH BEAST!). And if it isn't charged, it just reverts to a normal gun without the proximity safety measure.

That's far more functional than the retarded ideas in the video.

Give me money. This can't be that hard to accomplish.

I suppose it comes down to balancing the reduced reliability of the gun due to the added features versus their utility. Let's say you get into a physical altercation while carrying a gun. While I would want the ability to defend myself with deadly force if I'm physically attacked, the law does not permit me to do so unless the attack threatens my life or grevious bodily harm. So you might indeed find yourself wrestling with someone and being unable to use your gun in self defense. And they might grab your gun and try to shoot you with it. At that moment I l'd want the safety features to kick in and prevent them from doing so. All of this to say that there are legitimate uses for the features they are proposing. Whwt I don't want to see, and what they want to do, is to make these features mandatory, making gun ownership prohibitively expensive for a lot of people, as well as taking away the choice from the gun owner.

Guess it's bludgeoning time. But seriously, there can be no other conclusion from this than the ability to "turn off" the weapons of groups of "undesirables".

Check out my new $4000 pistol. Only I can fire it and it works almost all of the time.

Yeah the fingerprint reader in my phone doesn't work reliably enough as it is no thanks.

Guns dont kill people, bullets do.

Bullets dont kill people, projectiles do.

Projectiles dont kill people, gaping chest wounds do.

Scene: a hulking nigger broke into your house. You are a small woman, but have a gun. Nigger advances slowly towards you....throbbing dick in one hand, knife in the other, and...you can't remember the unlock code for your 'gun'.

The bypass market will be very lucrative.
