Laminate? Did you not notice the undermount sink? That is GRANITE, feggit

As a general contractor... I failed. Time to call it quits guys. my 4 IQ is showing. I noticed the reflectiveness of the granite as well. It's been a good run fellas

I do commercial, which isn't really a good excuse. As soon as you mentioned the sink I said "fuck... you can't have a laminate countertop with a recessed sink, it'll rot the underside". That being said, we did do it on one job, but the countertops were custom and they wrapped the laminate around and sealed the sink to the bottom side. It was in an assisted living home. It was an Elkader sink and I wasn't a fan of how it turned out. But the architect spec'd it, so that's what they got. I give it another 3 years before they change them out.

Kinda weird to have granite with no backsplash.

There is a backsplash. Many opt out of the 6-inch granite strip, and just tile up to the bottom of the cabinets, you damn Commie.
