Still, 16" is too long to be a pistol. That pistol lower parts kit, basically all that differentiates it from a rifle lower parts kit, is that it has a pistol brace rather than a stock. 16" barrel is still rifle length. Need a shorter barrel to be classified as a pistol, and there is a maximum oal which does not include muzzle devices. So if you bought a lower receiver, that pistol lower parts kit, and an upper with say an 11.5" barrel, youll have a pistol. But if you put that short 11.5 barrel upper onto a rifle lower, like regular stock, youve just illegally manufactured an sbr, and youll get thrown in nigger university.
I think he gets that. Seems like he's thinking either freedom carbine kit, or pistol kit. Both setups he linked need receivers so he'd be (((legal))) however he initially assembles it.
My bad, didnt see the 10.5 link
I dont think he does. He asked if he could build a pistol with a 16" barrel. The answer is no. Needs a shorter barrel to be a pistol.
Yeah, I know I put two totally different guns up as options. I was on the fence on options for a similar price range. The link the post was to an AR-15, the bottom two was to build a Pistol but I forgot about the receiver part. If you click on it you will see it's just a 10.5 https://palmettostatearmory.com/psa-10-5-5-56-1-7-nitride-upper-w-o-bcg-or-ch-507020.html
Oh my bad, i see.
