I know there's some overlap between bears and foxes but I figured I'd post here and seek additional input:

Headed to the local dealer in the morning to look into compact 9MMs. I've already fired a lot of rounds through the S&W M&P Shield but a buddy of mine recommended the new model XD-S from Springfield.

Any of you Phukers poalr bears have experience with it?

You're the second person to mention the LCP2. If they have one there at the shop I'll have to check it out.

It has a fantastic trigger, it's solid as a beast, and for what it does within it's limitations it will hit a target well. .380 lends itself better to the catagory as well. It has slightly less felt recoil than 9. When your firing a small gun, even a difference of a small amount can make a huge difference. Both in follow up shots, and in comfortable training time. I've see people who carry snubbie .357 mags, but never train with them. They think that the big boom is all they need. But what's the point of that if you never train on drawing and shooting accurately?

Really though, any of those guns will be a great choice. Including the XDs. XDs is a single stage trigger. In case you don't know what that means, it means the gun has an internal hammer pin which is cocked when the slide is pulled back. The result is a very smooth, crisp, and light trigger. It's one of the best parts of the XDs is that fucking trigger. It's better than sex.

Just make sure to avoid Taurus, SCCY, Kahr, and (imo) Glocks. For full size it might be another story. But for a CCW weapon your life depends on...no, for different reasons
