I'm relatively new to firearms in general, and took the advice of a local gun store owner when he recommended the romeo. His position was that at the end of the day, it's easier. After decades of shooting, he's found that once getting used to it, he's much faster with it. Also, after lots of studies, the alphabet agencies all found the same and are now issuing firearms with red dots to the agents. If I'm going to learn, might as well learn with that.

So far, I'm pretty happy with the red dot as well...

As for the holster, I read lots of great things about Alien Gear, but ended up getting the Sig IWB. How do you like yours?

I like that it's modular and I can switch between iwb and owb with the same holster. I'll go owb with the 15 round mag and iwb with the standard 12 round. It also comes with owb paddle and appendix carry. Very versatile and made in Idaho.

Until the dot doesn't work in a life/death situation and you're fucked.

Proper maintenance is necessary for any tool. If the gun malfunctions during a life or death situation, you’re fucked. If you check it and the electronics regularly, you should be fine.

Just more to go wrong in my opinion. They are fun on target pistols though
