The only safety you need is between your ears and in your finger. It has a relatively long, light, smooth DAO trigger. It has a VERY stiff recoil spring and I have to concentrate when racking the slide. I seriously doubt any woman could do it.
I would recommend the S&W EZ .380 or 9mm. Not a lot bigger and has a safety and an easy slide. And absolutely on the body carry. with an extra mag.
You can carry a bigger gun than anyone realizes. If you wear a decent shirt no ones gonna see it. Ive carried a Sig P320C and a Glock 30 at different times.
I gave my sister a Taurus G2 and it fits her hand perfect and has a safety. I put 2000 rounds through it with no fails. Taurus has a new micro 9mm called the GX4. I havent shot it but its the same size as the Kahr.
Unless your wife has tiny hands I would get a small 9mm. Ammos cheaper and more potent. A pocket carry is better than being unarmed but Ive seen guys shooting the tiny S&W Bodyguard and its ridiculously small.
She is petite. She has several firearms. But am looking for something smaller which affords more carry options. Her small frame and women's clothing in general makes carry problematic in the first place.
Her primary is a PT111G2. This is rather large on her unless she's dressing dykish, as is popular these days. As she frequently prefers more traditional dress, I'm looking for smaller options. She also has a GX4. But am also looking for another step down for yet more options.
