A while back (might have been on Voat as I can't find the post) someone mentioned that there is an air rifle capable of dropping a deer.

Does anyone here know if this is true, and if so, what make/model that would be please?

My reasons for wanting this is that it can be easily purchased (no waiting periods, checks etc) and the ammo should be dirt cheap and easy to carry, which is ideal if I need to leave my city and avoid the morons here and live off the land.

If a anyone has any personal experience on this (such as what it is like to actually hunt with it) please jump in with any info that you have.

Thanks.

Btw, the Lewis and Clark Expedition used an airgun for much of their food. They commonly used it to get deer.

That’s nuts, I never knew they had air guns back then.

Neither do liberals and most conservatives.

I knew they had them, but I was under the impression that they were typically spring piston operation rather than pre-charged.

They also would show the Indian tribes what they did and were left alone

It was this video that I shared on Voat about these rifles.

Well, I thought I was special. From what I can tell, between the fps and weight of the rounds they could be effective in deer hunting. Never tried though.

There are people who claim to deer hunt with that rifle. Some of them are ex-cons who haven't jumped through the long process of getting their record expunged or permanently sealed. So they're limited to black powder or air rifles.

That is awesome.

Yeah it is, not cheap though. Over 1000 last I checked.

If it is good quality, and lasts a long time, that isn't so bad.

They make .50 cal air rifles that will drop a deer.

You, my friend, might be interested in the Umerix Hammer. This 0.50 cal airgun is the most powerful in production airgun on the market. It will drop hogs, deer, hell, this might even take down an estrused up negress (though you might want a have a follow up shot ready)

Thanks for pointing this out to me.

Lol @ not being part of the poison blowdart master race

What if you want to eat it though?

[–] 1 pt

Yuck! I only kill animals for fun, not to eat them

They make em that will drop elephants.

What would that do to a moose?

Oh that's cool as hell. Good for horkers and such.

.177 doesn't have enough mass. so the "ammop is dirt cheap and easy" is fause

Pcp rifles, in the right caliber will do it. Like others said get the air compressor if your actually want to shoot (the hand pumps take forever)

Skip pyramid air, they screwed me on a few parts lately and I'm still salty about it.

1500 strokes were required

Exact number I do to OPs mom
