I have a S&W PD commander 1911, a beautiful pistol. My primary CCW. However, .45 caliber ammo is expensive and hard to find lately, so I bought this: https://www.browning.com/products/firearms/pistols/1911-22.html A Browning M1911 in .22 caliber. It’s 85% the size of a typical 1911. It operates exactly the same as any M1911. Fun to shoot and way cheaper. It’s the first gun I let my wife shoot. She loved it. Anytime a friend who has never fired a gun before asks me out of curiosity, this is the gun I show them first and let them shoot before I drag out the .357 magnum, Mini-14, and AR-10. Got to break them in gently if their father failed to raise them properly.
