I plan to buy a thousand rounds of 9mm FMJ for practice, but dont expect to have time to shoot much until at least December or January.

Ammo prices have been trending down since early this year ($1/round was egregious). Currently prices are floating between 34-38¢/round for bulk brass 9mm FMJ. What's everyone gut prediction for ammo prices? Buy now because you expect them to rise over the next 5-6 months? Or hold off and wait for prices to continue dropping? In either case I wont have time to go to the range much in the interim.

I don't think 9mm will go below 30¢/round. That is darn close to pre-pandemic prices. In this market I am a buyer @ or below 35¢/round. It seems like the very common calibers have price corrected because the manufactures were trying to keep up and it looks like they finally did. less popular calibers are still very price inflated. Things like 6.5 Creedmor are still crazy at price points like $2.50/round

There are new ammo plants getting built so the increased production should help. I hope the new panic buyers shelve their guns. The combo of those two might give us 19cpr again.

Of course Biden just said some dumb shit about banning 9mm pistols, so there's always that wildcard.

On one hand he'd love to ban guns, but his dementia is so bad he probably wont remember.

Lol does an assault weapons ban and then says a week later we need an assault weapons ban.

What's special about 6.5 Creedmor? The only thing I'm familiar with in 6.5 is Cardano, and that's a bastardized "why is this a thing" cartridge.

6.5 Creedmor has the power of a 308 but with a better ballistic coefficient so it retains that power out to longer ranges with less drop and wind drift. Basically it is a round for when you want to play out at 400yds or more.

What's it intended for hunting? That performance at that range sounds great, I'm just curious what it's intended for where you need to be that far away. Elk?

Try shopping at bass pro. Box of 6.5 is 20/25$ for normal stuff. 35 cents is twice as much as average 9mm pre kung flu. You need a better ammo dealer.

That's the price they list but it is not in stock... if you want to actually buy it you will pay twice that.

Only if you are buying steel cased shit. Brass case FMJ is my floor for 9mm and that was about 25c pre-pandemic

You're wrong on both accounts. Plenty in the one by me I just bought 5( the limit) 16 cents a round was the usual for 9mm for brass cased. Get a better dealer dude
