All the ammo you can afford, would be the appropriate amount. I see people buying more guns, and not having the ammo to shoot / train / stay on-top with and cry inside. I get its good to have guns, but they're il-performing clubs at best without ammo.

Fully agree with this. People who don't train with guns think just owning them is some magical talisman. It's like, haven't' you ever been in, or seen a fight and just froze? That can happen if there's a gun in your hand, or on your dresser, or in your safe too.
Something something sink to the level of your training.
It's better to have a few basic firearms and a bunch of ammo then to have a specific and niche gun for every situation and no training with it.
