I think that's what folks arent grasping. This isnt an assembly shortage. If it was, everyone would be reloading like mad and prices would be relatively "normal" . it's a shortage of component parts. You see this issue in primer availability being nil.

Wheres the component parts shortage coming from? Is this simply demand far outstripping supply, or producers crimping supply on government order?
Demand is outstripping supply. Firearm sales are at stratospheric levels, particularly for first or second time owners. If someone's buying their 10th gun, they probably don't need more ammo. If it's their first or second gun, they're probably going to need at least 100 rounds and a lot more if they want to be proficient. That's an incredible quantity of increased ammo demand.
