I feel your pain. I should have spent more money on my health instead of guns! I bought one of the newer crappier Remington 1911s as my new daily carry. Carrying the good one made me feel guilty for damaging the blueing.

I would suggest checking your local small shops and pawn shops. Some areas also have police auctions you could try. I got myself in hole to a local gunshop once. So there's that lol.
