it really depends on the incident imo
there has been times here where kids got a hold of a pistol, then fired it. sometimes shooting a family not know they are doing, or possibly harming a sibling. they usually require to lock the up, or have a trigger guard or something around kids
as far as being a crime or accident is like explaining a DUI charge... you hurt no one why i am being charged
tbh, it all comes to the fucking prosecutor of the county on that, i was just thinking the same thing about this last night... well not with guns. but I dont want to get into that, not the right time.
If you are responsible with a firearm there should be zero accidents, and if you have one you should practice with it... think of it like a sword.... its a very difficult subject
