I would like to get one to hunt hogs at night. Even if it is put together. I have seen some interesting projects people have done that have little led screens and everything.

What do you consider inexpensive? Afaik, entry-level night vision scopes are >$400 and thermal are >$1000.

I could probably swing $400. I doesn't have to be top of the line of course, but it is just for some night hog plinking. I wish I could swing a silencer but one step at a time right?

A family friend kills hogs with the ] all the time. Since most inexpensive night-vision scopes are basically just cameras with an internal screen, there are a plethora of too (disclaimer: have not tried any of these DIY options).

Finally, idk what your hunting situation is, but where I hunt we just put some red lights out on the feeder that we activate with a switch. Most pre-made feeder light systems are expensive, but a DIY light system with the right wavelength (in green or red) will work. For us, this is easier than buying a single scope. Obvious drawback is it's not mobile.

Thanks, I will look into that
