kind of too peaty for my tastes, but I'm sure that one day I'll just suddenly love it for some reason, because that's just how things go.

Maybe that's the kind you drink on the rocks or sommat - I just drink it neat because not drinking scotch neat just seems gay and uncivilised.

I've always prefered everything on the rocks. I can take my time sipping it, letting the ice slowly dilute it

If I were a serious drinker, then I would agree, only, the water here is really good, and I like how the flavor changes from the cold and slow dilution.

The more I picture drinking it neat, the more I can see how you are right. Good liquor has so many notes that would get muddied.

Really, I think water or ice is more for people who like to get drunk, not to properly appreciate good alchohol
