It's not bonkers, it's just advice. You can take it or leave it, no problem. Pick up your firearm and come back and look through these comments later. Take your time and be picky, get what feels right to you. For instance, I think I have my .45 for about 6 months before I picked up snap caps for it to practice with. Just don't shoot your eye out and you'll be fine.
