That is not how it works. CA dropped these models because the manufacturer(s) did not re-up for yet another “drop test” certification. ‘‘Tis means that a model that is certified, fees for testing paid and whatnot, can only stay on the list as long as the manufacturer continues to pay for that model to re-cert. if the market isn’t good for a particular model, the manufacturer may choose to not re-cert that model, while other models it makes are doing well in that market, so they re-cert.
It sucks, and I’m not blaming the companies. I’m just explaining how it works.
