I have tons and reload. But my biggest caliber is 300 blackout. Nothing really great for medium game unless you count 12g slugs.

Well you already have a one up as you can use a lot of the same projectiles for 308 as you do in your 300 blackout. 300 blackout is good enough to take large hogs and if needed you could probably take a medium deer with it as well.

I think there's a slight difference like .308 vs .311 diameter but it's probably workable. If I could score large rifle primers I'd be good.

7.62 if you have basic machinist skills. Kits are everywhere (disassembled rifles) and the slavs made more than you can imagine.

A lot of misinformation about that and the difference in 233 and 556. The difference in pressures has to do with the different testing methods used for nato and saami testing.

The most common refrain is that 5.56 is significantly higher pressure than .223. But that difference is almost entirely due to different testing methods.

The .223 round is civilian, so it's measured by SAAMI. They say they it is 55kpsi.

The 5.56 is NATO, so they measure the pressure. They have been using a testing methodology called EPVAT. That has the pressure sensor in a different place than the SAAMI test. NATO's EPVAT gives the pressure at 62kpsi.

NATO has also recently started using a different testing method called SCATP. The SCATP test is designed to check pressure in the same way that the SAAMI test does it. The pressure of the 5.56 round tested by the SCATP method is 55kpsi.

So the exact same 5.56 round measured by EPVAT is 62kpsi, and the exact same 5.56 round measured by SCATP is 55kpsi. The difference is the testing methodology and how the pressure is measured. In the NATO test that is designed to be the same as the SAAMI test, 5.56 tests as 55kpsi and the .223 tests as 55kpsi.

There are differences between the two rounds, but the pressure is a lot closer than what most people will tell you.

I used to fire 308 out of my 7.62 fn fal with 0 issues. Damn I wish I didn't lose it in that unfortunate boating accident. From what I have researched is you can fire a 7.62 out of a 308 but should not do the opposite.

Yes. I picked up some nato for get this, .20 a round. It’s Berdan primer so you have to stay on maintainance, but hey, it was there, and cheap.

75 millimeter I'd say. Not a lot of artillery fire going on, probably deep discounts doe to sagging sales. a 3 inch shell can really NAIL a squirrel and cook it too. People never realize the benefits of 75 mm. PLUS great for nigger control at your house.
